My week in Parliament

My week in Parliament has been a very enjoyable, as well as educational, experience. I have always had a great interest in politics and current affairs, so this has been an amazing opportunity for me and I have been able to gain a much broader view of the UK’s political system.

Shutting down Parliament is no way to deliver democracy

This week Parliament has been debating whether it should be prorogued (i.e. shut itself down) during the month of October. The thought that employees would wish to close down their own place of work would be an unusual concept to most. It is to me as well.

In a Westminster Hall debate discussing the funding of TV licenses for the over 75, Huw spoke on the BBC’s decision to provide a free TV licence only for those aged over 75 and also receiving Pension Credit.
