I have received a large amount of correspondence from constituents regarding confusion over the new "Rule of Six". During the Secretary of State's statement on Coronavirus I asked whether the Government could allow flexibility in the rules and exclude under 12s.

We must practice what we preach

I’ve had a busy week in Parliament. I’ve spoken up for our local schools and students in a debate in the Chamber about education. I’m particularly keen to ensure that pupils sitting their exams this academic year have an exam paper based on what their teachers can cover in a disrupted year.

Huw takes action to combat retail violence and protect retail staff

Huw Merriman, MP for the Bexhill and Battle constituency, has signed up to support the British Retail Consortium’s (BRC) Shopworkers’ Protection Pledge, vowing to stand with retail staff and support legislation to better protect shopworkers from violence and abuse.
