HS2 Evidence Session

On Friday the 24th April, the Transport Select Committee held a HS2 Evidence Session where we were joined by three witnesses, Sir John Armitt CBE from the National Infrastructure Commission, Mark Thurston the Executive Chief Office of HS2 Ltd and Andrew Stephenson MP.

Huw welcomes landmark agreement on cystic fibrosis drugs

Bexhill and Battle MP, Huw Merriman, has welcomed the news that an agreement has finally been reached between the NHS and drugs company Vertex Pharmaceuticals on the supply of life-changing cystic fibrosis drugs.

Last week I had an amazing opportunity shadowing Huw in the Houses of Parliament. The experience altogether was surprisingly very interesting and eye-opening especially during the negotiations for the Brexit Deal.

Transport Select Committee - Transport Secretary

Grant Shapps, our new Secretary of State for Transport, appeared before our committee to discuss his priorities. I asked him if the department was really able to deliver on reform as well as deal with the events which arise. I used the airline insolvency review as an example.
