A number of constituents have contacted me regarding East Sussex County Council's Early Year's consultation which could see the closure of local children's centres and the transfer of two nurseries out of Council control.

My response to the consultation is as follows:

Battle MP, Huw Merriman, has been working closely with Battle campaigners to bring a 24 hour free cash point back into the heart of the town.

Huw Merriman has welcomed news that children and young people in the Bexhill and Battle constituency are to benefit from additional mental health support.

Neighbourhood Plans allow towns and parishes to deliver sustainable housing where the community want it and to plan for future community fabric.

Mountfield Heath School officially opened its doors on 14th June 2019.

Bexhill was described as 'the Wild West of parking' by an MP after she visited the town to get to grips with the issue.

Huw Merriman, MP for Heathfield, visited Cross in Hand CE Primary School last Friday, on their annual Sports Day, to celebrate the importance of PE and school sport to young people’s wellbeing.

In Education questions, Huw raised concerns he had with the closure of Broad Oak Primary School and the wider issue of driving development in areas where school places aren’t being filled.

The refurbishment of Battle railway station, considered to be one of the finest buildings of its type in the country, has been given the seal of approval by Huw Merriman, MP for Bexhill and Battle.

A number of our schools are on, or near, busy and dangerous roads. Many are struggling to recruit school crossing staff to help the pupils and parents cross safely to get to and from school.
