Huw Merriman met with senior management from Southern and South Eastern rail companies to receive a briefing on recent services coming in to London Bridge. As a daily commuter to London Bridge, Huw experienced the delays and over-crowding and gave his views.
Huw was given reassurances that teathing problems from the reopening of London Bridge were being resolved. Network Rail, who also attended the briefing, acknowledged that the reopening could have been better handled. Huw said “The conditions we all experienced in January were not good enough. I am reassured that lessons have been learned and am also delighted that Southern are finally investing in more rolling-stock for constituents who use the Uckfield line. Life will be difficult for commuters on the Hastings line until London Bridge reopens for this line in 2016 and commuters deserve great praise for their patience.”
