Assisted Dying Bill Debate

Many constituents have contacted me about the Assisted Dying Bill. I voted in favour of this Bill but the House of Commons rejected the Bill by 330 votes to 118. Please read my speech to the House of Commons.

Rail Summit at London Bridge: Update for South Eastern rail users

Today I attended a summit with the Rail Minister, Network Rail, South Eastern Rail, Transport Focus and fellow MPs from Sussex, Kent and South London to discuss the issues facing commuters and rail users travelling to and from London. London Bridge is in the midst of an enormous redevelopment to increase capacity and the MPs were given an opportunity to view this vast project.

Huw Merriman appointed to Transport Select Committee

Huw Merriman, has been appointed to the Transport Select Committee which reviews policy and spending on rail, roads and other transport areas. The Select Committee sits in Parliament and conducts enquiries, produces reports and reviews the conduct and performance of the Government, local authorities and the transport industry.

Huw calls for broadband improvements

Wealden and Bexhill & Battle MPs Nus Ghani and Huw Merriman have spoken in a debate about the roll-out of superfast broadband at the House of Commons.
