Representatives from English Heritage, Battle Abbey School and Battle Town Council joined Huw Merriman MP and visitor attraction and design industry experts this week to discuss the next stages in the bid for Battle to become the temporary UK home for the Bayeux Tapestry.
Bexhill MP, Huw Merriman, was impressed with the progress being made on the new North Bexhill Access Road and the next office building – High Weald House — for the Bexhill Enterprise Park, when he visited the construction sites during August.
Before my week in the constituency office, I found it easy to overlook the importance of an MP in their constituency, especially when the media tends to focus on Parliament and the national changes that occur.
Huw called into Pevensey Court House Museum and Gaol during the summer to see the latest additions to the museum’s collections and the restored prison cells of this small but significant building in Pevensey.
Huw held public meetings last week in Bexhill, Battle and Heathfield to explain the process of the UK leaving the EU and discuss the options with residents. The meetings were attended by over 500 people who gave their views to their MP.
