This summer I am knocking on doors with a survey which asks residents what priorities they have for me when Parliament returns. With 50,000 doors across the constituency, I will not get to everyone but hope to get as many views as possible.

MP calls for rail fare review

Bexhill and Battle MP, Huw Merriman, has criticised the decision to increase rail fares by 2.8% from January 2020. The increased fare is calculated using the July Retail Prices Index (RPI) measure of inflation.

Hopes for a Revised Brexit Agreement

Parliament has broken for the summer recess, meaning that my main place of work for the next six weeks will be across the 200 square miles of the Bexhill and Battle constituency.

Early Help - Response to ESCC consultation on children's centres

A number of constituents have contacted me regarding East Sussex County Council's Early Year's consultation which could see the closure of local children's centres and the transfer of two nurseries out of Council control.

My week in Parliament

My week in Parliament has been a very enjoyable, as well as educational, experience. I have always had a great interest in politics and current affairs, so this has been an amazing opportunity for me and I have been able to gain a much broader view of the UK’s political system.

Shutting down Parliament is no way to deliver democracy

This week Parliament has been debating whether it should be prorogued (i.e. shut itself down) during the month of October. The thought that employees would wish to close down their own place of work would be an unusual concept to most. It is to me as well.
