During the second evidence session in the Transport Committee’s inquiry on Zero emission vehicles and road pricing, the Committee focused on what charging infrastructure would be required to reach the 2030 phase out target, how to manage energy demand, including ‘smart charging’, the customer experience, including interoperability, issues around upgrading grid capacity, the Government’s Project Rapid and the rapid charge fund, the regional and local lessons of rolling out charging infrastructure, ensuring charging access for all, including on-street charging, place-based solutions and issues facing rural communities and the myths around charging electric vehicles and how to best to mitigate them.
