This one-off session focused on the Department for Transport’s (DfT) transport decarbonisation plan Decarbonising Transport: a Better, Greener Britain, which was published in July 2021.
The committee examined the DfT's official projections on the reductions in transport emissions that can be achieved by 2050, their strategy and policy for delivering these reductions in transport emissions, including how it is monitoring progress with the plan, and assessed what assess what impact the plan could have on people’s day-to-day lives, particularly the level of cost and disruption that members of the public might expect because of the measures the Government is taking to decarbonise transport.
